"So, you're telling me you used to be a teacher? That's quite the career change! Were you a chemistry teacher?" These are questions I'm often asked.
It all started in the classroom...
Well, let me tell you, it wasn't an easy decision to leave the world of young children behind. I really loved my students. But, there was this nagging feeling in the back of my mind, telling me there was something more out there for me. So, I took a leap of faith and decided to pursue my entrepreneurial side. And, no, I didn't teach chemistry, but always loved to bake and I'd often bring goodies into my classroom. So, I often say, "Making skincare is like making batches of cookies, without the calories." It's precise. I like that.
Turning passion into profit
It hasn't been a walk in the park, let me tell you. There have been ups and downs, twists and turns, and more late nights than I care to admit. But you know what? I wouldn't change a thing. The satisfaction of building something from the ground up, of seeing my creations come to life, is unlike anything I ever experienced in the classroom.
Embracing the challenges
Sure, there have been moments of doubt and uncertainty. There have been times when I questioned my decision to leave the stability of teaching behind. But then I remind myself of all the amazing experiences I've had, all the lessons I've learned, and the amazing people I've met along the way. And suddenly, those challenges seem to melt away.
Looking back with no regrets
So, here I am, a former teacher turned entrepreneur. It's been a wild ride, full of unexpected twists and turns. But you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way. The road may have been bumpy at times, but it's a journey I can't imagine NOT taking.
And who knows? Maybe one day I'll be back in the classroom, sharing my entrepreneurial journey with a new generation of students. But for now, I'm content to keep forging ahead, one quirky, fun, and organic step at a time.
Love,
Christie
