How did I get here?

I often look at my life and think, "Who could've predicted THIS?"

I mean, come ON.

I headed to college in 1991 with one goal, and only one. To be a teacher. If they had given me a teaching license without going to college, I wouldn't have attended BGSU, instead I would've dropped right into the classroom. Because, that's where I belonged and thought I'd stay until I was a very old lady.

But, then, something began shifting in me, and during my 19 years of service to children, I felt a tug toward the spiritual stuff. I was always intrigued and wondered about people who could sense things and astrology was another thing that wowed me. I could also sense things.

And, then, my daughter and I both became sick. Me with auto-immune issues and mercury toxicity in my body. She with allergies and a peptic ulcer. A LOT was around our stomachs, our digestion. We both had an inability to digest food without pain.

So, the healing journey began. The physical one, I mean. Changing what we ate, cleaned our home with, and finally body products. You've probably heard the story a thousand times if you know me well.

But, also in the journey, is the spiritual side of things. The fact that true healing, in my opinion, cannot be reached without BOTH the physical and spiritual.

I also believe that if a human can ascend to the highest vibration, then it doesn't even matter what we eat or put on our bodies and surround ourselves with.

BUT, I do not know anyone who has reached this place, I've only read about these mystics in books. And, honestly, I don't know if I could ever reach that place while still on the Earth.

So, I do the "things." I TRY and eat well. Oh, that delicious ice cream...when I do eat it, I try and savor it. I remember that I'm human and this is one of those benefits of being human. I do my best to have regular exercise outside in my garden, where I unintentionally do squats as I weed. And, when I push the wheelbarrow - all that strength training! A woman I knew in Maui, named Tama, used to say that her garden was her gym. I've always remembered this and live by that, too. Lastly, the spiritual connection to source/God, has to be practiced in order to keep it alive. I'm guilty of forgetting. I'm guilty of watching too much YouTube instead of sitting in the quiet. Like all of the above things, I'm human and do my best to keep all of these things in check.

I get centered when out in my gardens and in my shed. I feel like my little herbal business is also a spiritual one. Because, how can you have amazing plants and use their powers in formulas if you don't believe in the ENERGY of them? How can I NOT talk to my plants and also feel their energy? How can I NOT use Reiki every time I cut my plants? I "feel" them and let them know that the cutting helps them grow stronger. They get this. I get this.

So, when you come onto the property here, I hope you not only see the plants, but you also feel them and their amazing healing properties when you use my products. It is my wish for you all to leave here feeling a little better than when you arrived. This was my intention for my old BnB and shoppe on Put-in-Bay and it remains that way here at Your Only Earth and The Enchanted Shed. I hope you find your way here.

Peace and Love to you all.
